The medina is absolutely incredible. We've been filming non-stop — the colours, the sounds, the food. Tomorrow we head to Ouarzazate for a Sahara day trip, then we begin the long crossing into Mauritania. Follow the live stream tonight at 18:00 BST for the night market walk!
This is so exciting! My whole family is watching from Lagos. Safe travels through the Sahara 🙏🏾
The Sahara crossing is going to be legendary content. Make sure you capture the stars at night — no light pollution out there!

I was born in Birmingham but grew up hearing stories about Nigeria from my parents. Watching this journey is the closest I've felt to "home" even though I've never been. There's something deeply emotional about seeing the route from London — where I live — all the way to Lagos. Anyone else feel this way?

We're here in Nigeria waiting for you to arrive! The whole street knows about this journey. My mum has been watching every stream. When you cross the border into Nigeria it's going to be the biggest celebration. We're ready for you! 🇳🇬🎉

I noticed the kente-inspired geometric patterns used throughout the site design. It's such a thoughtful nod to West African textile heritage. These patterns carry deep meaning in Ghanaian and broader West African culture. Love seeing African aesthetics celebrated in digital spaces.

I've always wanted to do an overland trip through West Africa but the visa situation seems incredibly complex. How did you plan the visa route? Did you get them all in advance or at the border? Any tips for others who want to do this?
